Why I Built This
MyVitalHome was born out of years of learning home maintenance the hard way.
I was the first person in my immediate family to purchase a home. I didn't grow up in a home we owned, so I never learned what it meant to take care of one. When I bought my first home, there was no manual — no one to call and ask "what do I do first?" or "how often does this need to be done?" I learned by missing furnace filters, ignoring gutters, and calling emergency plumbers for things I could have prevented with a $20 fix.
Every mistake cost more than it should have. Not because I didn't care — but because nobody ever taught me.
I built MyVitalHome so that nobody else has to learn the hard way.
Whether it's your first home or your fifth, whether you own or rent — MyVitalHome tells you what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. For every system, every appliance, every season.
And when I say "home," I don't just mean a house. I mean wherever you call home.
Know your home's vitals.
Somewhere along the way, I realized it wasn’t just homes people struggled with—it was the tech inside them too. I’ve spent over 25 years in IT fixing everything from network outages to printers that seem personally offended by your existence.
That’s why I also write The Rebooter’s Guide — a plain-English newsletter for fixing Wi-Fi, printers, and everyday tech headaches.
